 Shing Family Technology Grant

The Chinese Center on Long Island, Inc. is extremely pleased to announce the establishment of the Shing Family Technology Grant by Norman and Shirley Shing. An award of $500 will be granted to a graduating senior of the Chinese Center on Long Island, Inc. This grant is to further assist a graduating senior with funding towards the purchase (s) of technical tools to achieve their academic or career goals.

Norman is a computer systems analyst and Shirley runs the computer lab at the elementary school where she works. She’s also the first level computer technical troubleshooter for the entire staff.  Norman and Shirley Shing and their children, Christopher, Tracie and Steven, have spent a major portion of their lives participating in the Center’s programs and activities, from the language school to the lion troupe and all fundraising activities. Norman is the ultimate role model of a Center Dad who is always there when needed.

Shirley has served awesomely as a fundraiser in her roles as director, co-president, banquet journal editor and treasurer. The children were always on hand participating and supporting their parents in all Center endeavors.

Many thanks are in order to the Shing Family for their commitment and generosity.
